KIND DEER KING’S SACRIFICE

After  a long chasing  a beautiful dear in the forest and being lost, Human King became very tired, he sat under a tree and fell asleep.
Suddenly, he heard a soft voice:
_ His respectful majesty!
Human King opened his eyes. What! It was the very dear he wanted!
_ Could I say one thing to you?
_ Go on!
The deer said: I am Deer King  of this forest. We deer suffer so much from your hunting. Every year, millions of deer and other animals are  killed. It is so painful that creatures losing their loved ones, babies losing moms, wives losing husbands. Please save us with your kind heart, please, please…
_  But my precious Queen loves deer heart soup!  At least once a year! Said Human King.
Deer King said: From now on, every year we will send a deer to your Palace. You don’t need to go hunting in the forest. Please kindly save us. Please, please.
Human King was moved by Deer King’s crying voice and tears. He still kept a serious strict face:
_You must keep the promise. One deer to my Palace on this day every year!

Time flies…Every year, a deer was sent to the Palace as agreed.

It was the day for a deer sacrifice arrival in the Palace.  Human King  was very happy that his wife was pregnant.
-          I myself must cook the deer heart soup for my precious queen.
Human King was very much surprised to see Deer King in the cage.
-          This year, for very mean reasons, my Mandarin sent a pregnant deer for the sacrifice. I saw this with my conscience eye, so I had to run immediately here to release mother and child, I don’t want my citizen to be killed before being born!
Human King was moved by Deer King’s compassion for his fellows. He didn’t want to kill Deer King but he didn’t want his wife to be sad to miss the deer heart soup.

Human Queen hurried in and shouted: Don’t kill the deer! I had such a heart-breaking dream! A mother asked me not to kill her as she is pregnant!
There came a soft voice of a baby deer from the garden.  The Queen suddenly felt an exciting pain. Time for labor!
A beautiful boy was born.  The boy and the baby deer became good friends.

Human King decided to ban hunting! Deer King and his fellow enjoy happy, peaceful life in the forest.

US-VIETNAMESE SISTERS PRACTICE POETRY PERFORMANCE TOGETHER ON SKYPE AND YOUTUBE

It was so fun, late in USA and early in Vietnam, Susan and I met to practice performing a poem together!
We  tried to settle  with light, images, sounds etc. Then Susan did  the introduction, as an MC:
- Hello, world!  Now, please listen to the poem: Bamboo Poles - compsed and performed by nguyen Thi Lan from Vietnam, first by Lan in Vietnamese and then by Susan in English.

Thanks Susan!  I chanted the poem  in Vietnamese. I  am always  moved to read this poem as it was written for my own mother, a typical example of poor women in Vietnam,  working very hard  to support their family and bring brighter future for children.

You can read the words of the poem by clicking the link.
When I  finished  the Vietnamese version, Susan continued in English.
It is so nice to read a poem together from two different sides of the world with 12 hours different in time!
Susan Ackoff-Ortega, New York, USA
It is more than 10 years since I first met Susan. I was her tour guide when she visited Danang, Hoian, Myson and Hue, very beautiful places with rich history and cultures in the Center of Vietnam. Susan is not only a tourist but also a very warm and good friend. She helps  to improve my English, edit my book, my stories and poems when I write them in English.
Susan and I have a lot of things in common. Susan is an artist. I love paintings but don’t really understand much. I love poetry and so does Susan. We care about peace, environment, and charity. We came to see a Blind Association in Thang Binh District, near Myson, a world heritage site in Vietnam. Susan supported them with some fund, I also offered them some of the income I have from  the tour with SusanJ
I hope I can come to New York, USA to  see Susan. We will have fun together, and surly we will perform poetry together , and it will be wonderful if we can do it together for the lovely  US audience.
That’s a dream! My thirsty dream. Now, we begin it by practicing the poetry performance on Sky and on Youtube.

We must learn together how to do it, Susan from  New York, USA and me in Danang City of Vietnam, 12 hours in difference!

Susan, I love you so much!

Lan: Yes. Thanks.

Susan : Hi there again
Lan: Hi Susan
Susan :  I love the poems you put on Facebook.
Lan: You read already? So quick. Jay likes it too:) You can check information of each place by clicking the PLACE
Susan: Okay.
[9:49:44 CH] Nguyen Thi Lan: One minute
Susan: Okay
Lan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CjeMIfqON4
Susan: Okay, I'll look.
Lan: Can we dopoetry performance together, you do English part:)
Susan: Sure.
Lan: You can see this poetry as a sample.
Susan: Do you want me to fix any English and do you want me to read the poem in English as a video? Would be great if we could appear together on the same screen.
Susan: Wonderful images of the bamboo and relationship you your mom and your're growing up.
Lan: Let's find out how we can appreare on and do it together:) You do the introduction too:)
Susan: Sure. My caretaker is running the generator now to fix the windows so I can't hear you on the tape now.
Susan: There must be a way to split the screen. Have to research it.
Lan: I was reading the poem while my husband watching footbal, so you hear funny voice!
Susan: I will listen later when he stops working. It was raining all day yesterday and today is cloudy. The solar panels are generating enought
Susan: enough power now to keep the electricity going but he feels using the electric drill might loose us electriciity so he's using the small generator to power the drill and I can't hear anything.
Lan: Later, Susan:)
Susan: Yes. For sure we will be able to do this performance together. What fun.
Susan: The poem you have on Facebook now.
Susan: For Gentle and Noble Tourists.
Susan: 2nd stanza, second line could be better:
Susan: Dearest friends of my life as a tour guide
Lan: I send you the poems, you edit if any, then brief introduction like an MC, You hear my performance in Vietnamese ( I send you the draft) you read that Poem in English and put it on Youtube.  Then I combine two E and V perfpormance together:)
Lan: I see the edition. Thanks.
Susan: Sounds great.  So do I create my own video on Youtube of your poem and then send it to you and you put it together? Do I do the introduction separately as a Youtube video or right before my reading your poem?
Lan: You can do it together, Introduction first, pause for 1-2 minutes, then performe in English, I can comebine together,  put your intro, pause, perform in V, then put your E later. is that a good idea?  But I don't know how to put you Clip tother with my clip??
Susan: Yes, that's what we have to figure out. Maybe there are some instructions on Youtube or on the internet. We have to do research.
Lan: Or more simple: you intro, read English part in beautifulo emotion voice, then I continue the poem in Vietnamse.:)
Susan: Either way is good. I like the idea of doing an introduction and then you doing the poem in Vietamese and then follow up with the translation in English. People will get the emotion of the poem from you even if they don't understand the language.
Lan: Exactly the same way all of my tourists say when I do the performance:)
Susan: Yes. We can say in the introduction that you will perform the poem in Vietnamese first and then followed by the poem in English so people will anticipate the order.
Lan: Thanks. This is so nice conversation. Shall I copy and put on my Blog, then put the link on FB.
Susan: Sure. I'll check out how we can do what we want to do with Youtube.
Susan: Speak to you again soon. Love you.
Lan: This conversation is like an introduction to our Poetry Performance Project- Susan, US and Lan, Vietnam:)
Susan: Definitely
Lan: Love you, my sister in the other half of the Globe:)
Susan: You too. You are so special to me always.
Lan :)

A DREAM

I was so happy to see Mum at the gate of the Market. Mum said in a hurry:
- I need to buy something to cook for Daddy.
She looked at me and went inside.
Oh, I need to run after Mum.   But she disappered in the croud!
- Mum, Mum, where are you?
I ran around. So many people in the Market. I ran up and down the stairs. The stairs were so strange, They lead to different ways!
And everywhere people sit and lay. Nobody knew where my Mum was. I continued running and found myself in front of a beautiful gate. Inside people danced and sang. It seemed they were enjoying a party.
Somebody shouted at me: Come back! Come back right away!
I didn't listen to them. I moved forwards and asked the Guard:
-  Can I come in? I want to look for my Mom here.
- No! It is not your time yet! You are not accepted here now!
He waved against me and I was moved back by his  strength! Tears ran down on my face.
- What's that? I hear my husband voice. He was shaking me.
Oh, it was a dream. A dream with Mum in it. But Mum, why it is so short?  I miss you. I miss you so much!

Telling Smiles

Telling Smiles

I can tell you from your smiles
That you are a pleasant one to be with
That you are happy and generous
That you have optimistic looks for life
You lift up others by your brighten eyes
When dear ones not in a good mood
The smiles mean don't give up
The smiles mean cheer up, my friends!
... Your smiles come from golden heart
Can lead people go very far
To reach the goal of life
To leave worries behind
Your smiles tell you are a great one
Sharing your love and understanding
To encourage people, a very good thing!
Come to see me, then I tell more
Your past, your present, your future life
I can tell your life from your smiles:)
